Montreal High's Miss Jessica interviewed on battle of the bands
The montreal music scene rocks up thanks to Montreal High’s reality tv version of “battle of the bands.”
Over 20 bands have already put their names forward to compete in Montreal High’s “battle of the bands.” This competition is for high school students with serious talent. The competition is open to musicions from a variety of genres, from rock and classical to jazz and hip hop. The criteria is a combination of talent, entertainment value and crowd appeal. Each month 3 new bands will do battle and have a chance to advance to the next round of competition. The duration of the competition is 3 months.
Miss Jessica, the hostess of the competition feels that, “This is a great opportunity for local talent to be showcased and rated in a fair unbiased way. There is a great local music scene in Montreal and bands are desperate for exposure. Montreal High’s competition is one of the few venues that can help these talented kids get noticed. We will even make their music available for sales and download directly from our site.”
Montreal High is Montreal’s answer to 90210 except with some edge and real characters. According to Montreal High’s director, Madeleine Sibthorpe, “Our battle of the band competition is going to rock. The response to the competition has been amazing. We are expecting even more response as word gets out. Over 20 bands have already signed up and if we had 100 or more it would not be a surprise.”
