Montreal, August 4, 2008 Montreal High press release
Montreal High schedules filming for August 8th, 2008
Quebec’s answer to 90210, Montreal High begins shooting of its first episode August 8th. The edgy production is based around the lives of high school students in Montreal’s diverse multilingual environment.
Planning for the series has taken many months and has resulted in a very rich and exciting cast featuring exceptional local talent. According to Madeleine Sibthorpe, the show’s director, “We worked hard to find the right people and our work has paid off. Our goal was to find local talent that would attract viewers and represent our diverse multilingual milieu. Montreal High is based on an English language school, but at least 30% of the dialogue is in French. We even have Spanish with subtitles. Montreal is unique in other ways as well. For example, we have an extremely talented youth culture. You can see the talent just by looking at how many athletes from the West Island of Montreal are represented in the Olympics. We also have many amazing local bands. We want to celebrate this in the series and plan to do this by actually running reality activities like a real ‘Battle of the Band’ that will be played out over the season.”
The cast of Montreal High includes:
Gabrielle Beaudoin - playing Charlie
Ashely Gosselin - playing Jacqueline
